  1. Socratic, we’re gonna have to disagree on this one. I think Foot et al. have conclusively shown that modern ethics is corrupt, and that virtue ethics is the only viable candidate.

  2. Foot’s note has much more to do with Aristotle’s functional argument (and the Stoics’ ‘follow nature’ dictum) than discourse ethics, as far as I can see, Gadfly.

    Or are you referring to her use of the hypothetical imperative to bridge is/ought? In that case, it looks more like a straight-forward use of conditionals from predicate logic than any discursive theory.

    Can you say more as to why you’re reading her that way?
